In the summer of 2018, a European organization that operated clinics in France, Italy, and Greece was challenged with combining all of their independent operations under one global brand. France was given a special urgency due to the fact that the company was preparing to open up a second clinic in that country – in Paris, Europe’s third highest populated city.

Our team of digital marketing strategists were retained to work alongside their team of web developers and clinical specialists around the world to help:

  • Navigate the complex process of mapping three domain names into a new one
  • Leveraging SEO best practices to increase website traffic and consultation requests in all three countries

Our team wrote a well-optimized blog post weekly in English, then had it translated into French, Greek, and Italian so that it could be published on the site. Due to the technical expertise required for content published on healthcare websites following the Medic Update, this content required significant research and technical detail. To help cut down on some of the internal review required by their clinicians, our team often translated unique posts written in one language into English, and then had them translated from English to the other two required languages.

Search Engine Marketing: To further support demand generation efforts for their hair restoration services in France, we expanded their paid search campaigns. Despite the language barrier, our expertise as one of Google’s Top 3% Premier Partners provided us with the know how necessary to improve how this medical clinic leveraged dynamic search. We also reviewed and made improvements to their retargeting settings in Google. Finally, due to the sensitive nature of the consultations this medical clinic schedules, we added Click-to-call ads to their campaigns. These ads only showed on mobile devices, but they allowed those searching online that were interested in a consultation to speak directly to a representative instead of being required to fill out a web form.

A premium production studio with thousands of episodes and award-winning series felt like it was broadcasting dead air when it tanked an estimated 67% of its traffic and 73% of its page 1 Google rankings following a recent website redesign with no thought given to podcast SEO.

Traffic declines from search engines following the launch of a site redesign are not uncommon. The likelihood of a decrease in traffic goes up even higher anytime a business makes foundational changes to URLs or internal links.

Saying all of that… most well known digital properties don’t usually fall to a four year low in traffic in the first month.

SEO Migration Services: Some sites lose as much as 30% of their traffic from search engines if they fail to plan ahead. The longer a company waits to make corrections to their site structure after a redesign, the higher the likelihood their ranking losses can become permanent.Because this podcast studio had just recently redesigned their website, our team did a deep review of their Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and site error reports in Semrush to ensure the site was being crawled correctly. We also wanted to make sure any errors that were uncovered weren’t getting out of control. If third party tools encounter errors, the likelihood that search engine spiders will also encounter the error are high, too.It was clear after our review that this site was suffering from a lack of content that search engines were able to read and index, leading to a 50% decline in daily users in as little as two weeks.

Link Building Services

Link Building: Our link building efforts were done with one goal in mind: speed up the turnaround time for Google to re-index the pages for these top 10 podcasts so they can return to their page 1 keyword rankings in the search engines and restore the daily traffic volume the studio organically receives.

SEO Services: Our analysis of the error logs indicated a widespread problem with the delivery of content for search engines in the JavaScript applications the studio was using to present show information to its site visitors. Instead of producing content for each show page in a way that follows Google’s JavaScript SEO best practices, Google was unable to index any content on the page. This caused a rapid decline in keyword rankings and traffic from organic search despite this studio’s archive of thousands of episodes.We recommended they install and configure one of Google’s preferred dynamic rendering tools to transform the content into static HTML. Deploying this solution allowed 90% of the page content easier for search engine spiders to consume.To help search engines further understand the topic of each page and episode, we also composed schema templates for the organization, each podcast host, and each podcast episode. Several basic on-page SEO recommendations for page titles, meta descriptions, page headings, and image alt tags were also required for the homepage and dozens of episodes of the top 10 shows.

Their Challenge

To create a campaign strategy to reach potential students in 21 degree categories and drive more student contacts to admissions. The university outlined cost per conversion and conversion rates as its two most important KPIs.

Our Solutions

DOM completely rebuilt the university’s Google Ads account and opened one in Bing Ads to reach the full spectrum of U.S. searchers. Targeting was expanded to international students for the university’s various campuses and online programs. Campaigns were grouped by theme to allow the university to best tailor its messaging to student and parent interests.

New landing pages were designed to increase conversion rates by enticing a higher percentage of prospects to submit information without increasing ad spend.

The university now reaches a wide array of potential students looking for specific degrees or how to enter specific fields from all over the world. Prospects self-select into their desired campus and program interests. Leads are then funneled to the appropriate admissions contact.

Our Results

Within months, DOM reduced the university’s cost per conversion 97.39% and more than doubled the conversion rate. This resulted in the university receiving twice as many student prospects at no extra cost.

Based on this success, DOM then expanded efforts into retargeting, video, and social media advertising to complement continued search engine advertising efforts.

Founded in Wheeling, WV, in 1933, Wheeling Truck Center has traditionally remained profitable while being limited in their geographic boundaries to the Ohio Valley area. In 2006, they came to DOM to help them expand their marketing reach throughout the United States with digital marketing tactics on Google and other major search engines.

What first started as a truck sales campaign quickly grew to encompass truck parts as a way to clear inventory space within their warehouses.

Fast forward to February 2010. Wheeling Truck received their first large international inquiry from Lima, Peru. While trying to determine how to proceed with this sale, they discovered the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS). The same day they inquired, Diego Gattesco from USCS came to their dealership with advice on how Wheeling Truck could sell internationally and help them assess future opportunities to expand internationally.

Part of their strategy involves a two-pronged approach to increase direct eCommerce sales online and generate leads for larger sales. The partnership between Wheeling Truck and DOM has contributed to the successful implementation of this strategy.

This approach led to phenomenal growth turned the once localized Appalachian dealership into a global player.

Not many fourth generation companies located in a small town in rural America can boast about their international business. Why? Because it is virtually unheard of. Wheeling Truck Center is proud to be an outlier that has successfully shifted their business from local to national to international deals.

Since then, Wheeling Truck has sold into more than 100 countries around the world. In 2014, Wheeling Truck was recognized by the WV Small Business Administration as Exporter of the Year and received the prestigious President’s “E” Award for Exports from the US Secretary of Commerce. At that time, they were only the 6th West Virginia company to receive the award since its inception in 1961.

Wheeling Truck’s reputation is growing throughout the world as they travel to meet with existing clients, establish new connections in new markets, and court new prospects. They have developed a sophisticated international exporting strategy to capitalize on on up and coming marketing, while backing off of less favorable ones due to currency fluctuations, new competition, political instability, or other market factors.
